There are many opportunities world-wide
for novice, amateur and trainee crew. Vessel owners and
managers offer these types of positions and are prepared
to take people on, but you must have a desire to sail
specifically on Tall Ships, Traditional Boats or Classic
Yachts. You should also be keen and show a willingness
to learn.
Vessel owners and managers who contact
us are quite often looking for multi-talented
individuals to work as crewmembers. When completing the
membership form please include any skills you have other
than sailing skills, such as Language skills, IT
computer skills, Water Sports instructing experience and
any other hobbies or interests etc.
Remember that when an owner or skipper
contacts you, you will be able to supply them with more
information about yourself and the type of position you
are seeking. When filing in the membership form please
be clear and informative without writing to much. We may
edit some of the details, so that they can be placed
online in your crew profile without taking up
unnecessary space.
You should send us a passport size
photograph of yourself after submitting your membership
form and payment. You can send it to us either in JPG
format as an email attachment or by post. You could send
us a still photo taken on your web camera if you have
one (colour photos are best).
Placement Process
Complete the registrations form and
submit payment details, you can then send us a passport
photograph as an email attachment in JPG format or post
it to us.
Your crew profile is then placed
online. Your contact details will not be on public view
(this is to protect your privacy). Your contact details
will only be accessible by Vessel Owners/Managers who
have registered with us, free of charge. Vessel Owners
and Managers can then contact you direct to
discuss terms in more detail.
If successful in securing the position
you seek, you must contact us immediately so we can
remove your details from the crew profile page and save
anytime owing on your membership until you need to use
the service again (so extending your membership).
Your details are also stored in our
crew database then forwarded to Vessel Owners and
Managers, when they match requested search criteria.
You will be issued a username and a
password which will allow you to view the contact
details for berths available. We will email you these
details after your CV/Profile is placed online.
